Right. All of us have things we need to get back to, so... Even when it's hard like this, we've gotta keep going. No other option.

[dms]

Right. We'll figure it out, and we'll see everyone again soon.

[ ...after a slight hesitation, he adds: ]

Hey, if I said something wrong, I'm sorry. I don't want to make this whole thing harder on you somehow.

[agleam]

[there's surprise for a second, before he shakes his head.]

No - no, you didn't, I promise. Things are a little bit, um, complicated for me back home right now, that's all. But you didn't have any way to know that.

[dms]

Oh... Well, I hope things will work out soon, once you make it back.

[agleam]

I'm going to make sure it does.

[he nods, though.]

Good. Then I can't wait to hear how it all turns out later!

[agleam]

Right. Assuming we get something that can send messages between worlds again... I'll make sure to send everyone an update as soon as I can.

[dms]

Eh? Did you not get something like that when you left before?

[agleam]

We got something we can use to send messages, yeah, but I think it only works for the worlds everyone at the school came from. So we'd have to get something new if I wanted to talk to you or anyone else I didn't know before this place, I'm pretty sure.

[dms]

Hm... That's a good point. I hadn't thought about that.

...Maybe they'll give us magical typewriters, or something?

[agleam]

Magical typewriters would be pretty cool!

[dms]

Right?! The only issue is how we'd carry it around. They're nowhere near as portable as a phone.

[agleam]

That's true... It would make traveling pretty tough!

[dms]

Ohhh, but if it's magical, maybe it would be able to collapse somehow? Or, like, turn into a mini typewriter!

[agleam]

Ohh, or if it's magical, it could also shrink...

[dms]

Yeah, yeah! Then you could just slip it into your pocket and go! Easy as pie!

[agleam]

That'd be really cool! I'll have to ask the staff about it.

[dms]

It would! Oh, maybe we could put the small version on a keychain, too? Then if anyone asks, you can just say it's a keychain and nothing special. Magic incognito!

[agleam]

Oh, right... I keep forgetting you didn't have magic where you come from! I guess that kind of thing would be pretty hard to explain to people who don't know about it.

Honestly? They'd probs just think you're crazy if you tried... or maybe chuuni? Kumopi's a little like that.

[agleam]

[squints a little bit]

Chuuni...?

Oh, right, you don't know. It's... Well, with Kumopi, it's sort of like wishing he could go to another world and get special powers and stuff? Like, he had this dragon keychain at home that was supposed to protect him or something.

He gets real into that stuff. It's a little confusing, but super cute!

[agleam]

[there's a long moment of confusion.]

You never know! Besides, it sort of did happen? We went to the prism and we did get special powers.

I guess you have a point... Besides, when I was a kid, I'd read a lot and always dream about getting to do the kind of things I would see in books. So I guess I can kind of get in, in that way!
