That's what most people I have explained it to call it, but it's called allomancy. Different metals do different things.

Interesting! So what would steel do? I think that's what they make trains out of.

Steel lets you push other metals away from yourself, or push yourself away from other metals. Most allomancers carry cheap coins around with them to use for it... You can use them as projectile weapons if you push them away from you, and if you drop them on the ground, you can push yourself away from them to move into the air.
