What did you do right before you got it?

I saw the clowns in the carnival and told them their juggling skills were on point! You know how hard they have to work to get that down? My BFF back home worked as a clown for a while and let me try it, and I could hardly even handle juggling two balls, let alone all those batons they use!

[ he just talks so much i'm sorry ]

Anyway, they gave me the hat and a sticker after that. Pretty nice of them, right?

Seems that way! It's just kind of weird that they haven't done that for anyone else, you know?

Mmmm. Last time I went out there, it was like something really upset them. They just ran out at us instead of letting us say hi! Really weird. Is that what happened to you, too?

Crazy... Whatever happened must have been pretty bad to make them act like that. Aren't clowns supposed to want to make people smile, anyway?

Really? Well, don't let your first impression ruin them for you! They're not usually like that. My BFF back home works as a pro clown sometimes - he's great at making people smile!

Haha, you bet! It's a job like anything else, you know? Kind of like acting - you perform so people smile and laugh.

Yeah, you know - for movies or plays?

Hm... Okay, so you know entertainers, right? Musicians and stuff? Acting is just another kind of entertainment! People tell a story in real time, by acting it out for an audience and pretending to be the characters from the story. Get a whole bunch of those people together, and you get a troupe!

Exactly like that! We put on costumes and stuff, too - it makes it feel more authentic and believable for the audience.

Sometimes we make the story up on the spot, too, but as long as the audience is happy with it, we're doing out jobs right.
